WAICA Education Conference 2025: The West African Insurer in the Face of Climate Change.

Rex Insurance is proud to sponsor the WAICA Education Conference 2025, a three-day event holding from Sunday 12th October 2025 – Wednesday 15th October 2025, with the theme; “The West African Insurer in the Face of Climate Change.”
The conference brings together insurance professionals, regulators and thought leaders from across the sub-region to explore how the industry can strengthen its capacity to respond to the growing risks and opportunities posed by a changing climate.
Our Managing Director/ Chief Executive, Mrs. Ebelechukwu B. Nwachukwu, who serves as the Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee, delivered the welcome address at the opening ceremony. In her remarks, she highlighted the critical role of the insurance industry in fostering climate resilience and supporting sustainable development in West Africa.
She emphasized the significance of collaboration, innovation and progressive leadership in addressing the complex challenges presented by climate risk.

The sessions featured vibrant discussions on aligning underwriting, investment and risk management practices with the realities of climate change, along with insightful conversations on regulatory perspectives, sustainability governance and the role of young professionals in advancing climate-smart innovation.
