In keeping with its vision of making insurance accessible, relatable, and engaging, Rex Insurance recently carried out a vibrant Retail Storm across Jibowu, Yaba, Sabo, and surrounding areas of Lagos.

The Retail Storm was designed to take insurance directly to the people—breaking down barriers, creating awareness, and showing that insurance is not just a product for the few but a necessity for all.

The Energy on the Streets

The campaign lit up the streets with music, excitement, and face-to-face engagement. From open-truck branding to energetic promoters, the storm created an atmosphere of fun while educating people on the benefits of insurance. Traders, students, transporters, and residents had the opportunity to interact with Rex representatives, ask questions, and learn about tailored solutions that fit their everyday needs.
The impact was immediate. Beyond the colorful buzz, residents left with knowledge, contact points, and in many cases, renewed confidence in securing their future. Business owners especially appreciated insights on how insurance can protect against unexpected losses.

A Movement Beyond Lagos

The success of the Yaba–Jibowu–Sabo storm shows that insurance can be made exciting and accessible. For Rex Insurance, this is only the beginning. With plans to take the Retail Storm to other cities like Ibadan and beyond, the company is proving that insurance is not just about policies—it’s about people, presence, and protection.

On underwriting, the Head of Underwriting, Mr Kazeem Sulaimon explained recent changes aimed at improving risk assessment while still supporting growth. He noted that the department had adopted a more flexible, technology enabled approach on generating quotations for clients. These efforts, he said, have positioned the company to respond more effectively to changing market needs.

The Managing Director/ Chief Executive, Mrs Ebelechukwu B. Nwachukwu also highlighted the deliberate effort to foster a multi-generational workforce, blending the energy and digital fluency of younger professionals with the experience and leadership of seasoned experts. This diverse talent mix, she emphasized, has played a vital role in driving innovation.

The event closed with an interactive Question and Answer session, where brokers shared feedback, asked questions, and affirmed their partnership in delivering excellent service to customers. The Executive Director, Technical expressed appreciation on behalf of the Management Team for the brokers’ continued support and reiterated the company’s commitment to mutual growth and shared success.

In attendance were the Management Team of Rex Insurance, Top Brokers in Lagos State, including the President Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB), Prince Babatunde Oguntade and the Deputy President Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers Mrs. Ekeoma Ezeibe, as well as the Business Development Team from Rex Insurance and select staff of Rex.
