Following the Rex Insurance participation at the 2024 Lagos State Tree Planting Day, the formal tree planting ceremony was held on the 21st of August 2024 at Otunba Jobi Fele Street median, Alausa, Lagos State, in collaboration with the Lagos State Parks & Gardens Agency (LASPARK)
The collaboration was in furtherance of the sustainability programme of Rex Insurance and the goal of the state government to provide a serene environment decorated with plants to provide clear air and enhance green spaces within Lagos State.
As part of the celebration, trees were planted by the Management of Rex Insurance, as well as the LASPARK Officials. Also, as part of our collaboration, Rex Insurance branded overalls were provided to the Agency to aid their work and brand awareness for Rex Insurance.
In his comments, Mr. Sunny Uwagboi, the Executive Director of Rex Insurance, stressed the vital importance of corporate responsibility in protecting the environment. He noted that our company understands the influence our operations have on the environment, and it is our obligation to address this through sustainable practices. This tree planting initiative is just one of the many contributions we are making to promote a greener Lagos.trong commitment to securing a position among the top 3 insurance companies in Nigeria.
Mrs Adetoun Ibilola Popoola, the General Manager of LASPARK, expressed gratitude to Rex Insurance for their dedicated efforts in environmental stewardship. She stated that partnerships like this are essential for their goal of transforming Lagos into a more sustainable and environmentally friendly city.
